Hawaiian Host gives back to Central + West O‘ahu
Just in time for Thanksgiving, the aloha spirit was full of gratitude when Hawaiian Host® donated over 3,500 boxes of chocolates to Kamalani Academy in Central O‘ahu and The Salvation Army’s Kroc Center in West Oahu.
Kamalani Academy Community Liaison Colleen Chapman said the donation was an unexpected and welcomed surprise for the school in Wahiawa. “We are grateful for the wonderful donation of product to our organization. We intend to spread aloha in the community with this donation by sharing chocolates with our students and kahakō groups we hold relationships with locally.”
Kroc Center’s Ministry Director Rick Ahn explained the donation was a blessing for local West O‘ahu families. “On behalf of The Salvation Army Kroc Center, we want to thank the Hawaiian Host Group for their partnership and helping us Rescue Christmas during this unprecedented season of need. Their donation will go a long way in helping to provide meals and hope to over 2,000 individuals during our Thanksgiving drive-by event. We’re grateful for generous friends like the Hawaiian Host Group!”
As community needs are significantly higher this year, in the spirit of the season, Hawaiian Host hopes to encourage other corporations and businesses to give what they can to deserving organizations.
