KOHO Chocolates Partners with Restaurant Suntory for Exclusive Japanese Whisky Pairing
KOHO kicks off its collaboration with Suntory alongside the iconic restaurant’s grand reopening this spring.
HONOLULU (April 6, 2022) – After a $2 million renovation, Restaurant Suntory re- opened its doors in late March to welcome guests back. Elevated and decadent options for both dining and drinking await, and KOHO is proud to collaborate with the beloved Royal Hawaiian Center restaurant for the first time.
During the opening festivities, the artisanal chocolate line was also invited to take part via a sample session of bon bons and tablets, thoughtfully paired with a variety of Japanese whiskys. Afterwards, guests were also treated to a complimentary 4-piece assortment of KOHO bon bons to take home.
“This will be a continuous partnership,” shares Theresa Tuxhorn, Director of Global Marketing for Hawaiian Host & KOHO. “We’re hoping to expand to their restaurants in Japan as well, and as a local Hawai‘i brand, it’s a privilege to be able to launch this collaboration with Restaurant Suntory here in Waikiki.”
Now that Suntory is officially open, a special menu at Suntory’s bar area is available. Here, patrons will have the opportunity to experience four different pairings:
- 55% Dark Chocolate Tablet x Hibiki Japanese Harmony — a mixture of 10 malt and grain whiskys
- Liliko‘i White Chocolate x Hakushu 12 Years — a smoky single malt whisky
- Kona Coffee Dark Chocolate x Yamazaki 18 Years — a well-aged whisky boasting an aroma of raisins, apricots and coffee
- Macadamia Nut Sea Salt Milk Chocolate x Yamazaki 12 Years — a single malt whisky with notes of honey, cinnamon with a hint of toffee
In addition to lunch and dinner hours, Restaurant Suntory now also has its Lounge Cafe Time from 2 – 4PM and Lounge Bar Time from 9:30 – 11PM. The KOHO-whisky pairings will be available at these times.
